About Me

Me
Steven Taarland.
21 year old Computer Game Application Development student at The University of Abertay Dundee.

Studying at The University of Abertay, Dundee has helped me realise my dream of becoming a Game Developer; fueling my passion to further my career early by gaining experience that I can apply as I continue through my education.

I’ve worked on several projects for both University and Personal work, including developing a game in GameMaker as part of an internship at YoYo Games, developing several game prototypes in Unity as part of a team of programmers and artists , The Chroma Project and Submersion. I’m developing an Android game for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for the Samsung Developer Challenge as part of Table 32 Studios.

Studying Computer Game Application Development has allowed me to explore my creativity in a way I find interesting through developing coursework, working in teams as part of the Abertay Game Development society to produce a small game in a semester, and meeting and communicating students ideas to the faculty through being a class representative last year.

Working for YoYo Games over the summer allowed me to explore my creativity by working in a team producing a game in a month. We were set the task of creating a game and evaluating software. This allowed me to become self-aware of more specific interests within game application development, work constructively as part of a team, and establish good working relationships with my other team members.

I am always Interested in to hear from anyone who wishes to get in touch with me; Whether you have an opportunity to work on fun projects or just want to say Hello, feel free to get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
